South African documents such as qualifications, marriage certificates and police clearance certificates are taken to DIRCO (Department of International Relations and Cooperation).

These are given a seal which authenticates the document.


A SAQA verification letter is now required for the verification of qualifications from private institutions. The steps have been outlined below.

What is Document Legalisation?


Once your documents have been authenticated the embassy relevant to the country of work will legalize the documents with an official seal.
